BS.Player, like most media players, requires that the correct codecs and splitters are installed before hand to playback formats that are not supported by default. It comes in two versions: FREE and PRO. FREE is spyware-supported, while PRO is commercial version. Latest version is: 2.23 Latest FREE and gator-free version is 1.37.
The current release supports Windows 2000, XP and Vista however, older releases also supported Windows 98 and Windows ME.
Beginning with version 1.38, the free version of BS.Player was bundled with a spyware package called WhenU by the authors in an effort to pay the development costs. The free version will not work if the user removes WhenU with an anti-spyware utility.[1].
